NursingFloor is built by people who use the internet too, and we wrote this the way we'd want it written. If anything here is unclear, email support@nursingfloor.com and we'll clarify it (and probably update this page).
What we collect
When you create an account, we collect your email and a password. Your password is stored as a hash, never as plain text. We may also collect a name if you choose to provide one.
When you study, we record what you complete: which questions you've marked as understood, which flashcards you've flipped, which items you've bookmarked, and your daily streak. In our current version this study data lives in your browser (localStorage) on the device you signed up on. In future versions we will sync it to our servers so it follows you across devices. When that change happens, this page will be updated and you will be notified.
When you email us for application review or hiring services, you send us whatever materials you choose to share (personal statement, resume, etc.). We treat those documents as confidential and use them only to provide the service you paid for.
We also collect basic technical data that any website collects: the pages you visit, your IP address, your browser type, and timestamps. We use a standard analytics tool to understand which pages are working and which need fixing.
How we use it
Your email is used to log you in, to send you account-related messages (password resets, important account updates), and, if you opt in, to send occasional product updates.
Your study progress is used to build your dashboard, calculate completion percentages, and suggest where to study next. It is not shared with anyone, ever.
Materials you send for paid services are reviewed by our team to provide feedback. Once the service is complete and any included revision rounds are done, we delete the materials within 30 days unless you ask us to keep them for follow-up.
What we never do
We never sell your data. Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to anyone.
We never share your study progress, account info, or service materials with third parties for marketing.
We never run third-party ads on NursingFloor pages. The site is funded by paid services (application review, hiring services) and by people who choose to support us.
Who we share data with
We use a small number of trusted service providers to run the site:
- Vercel hosts the site itself. They see standard server logs.
- Our authentication provider (Supabase, when enabled) stores your email and hashed password.
- Our email provider sends transactional emails when you sign up or reset a password.
- Stripe processes payments for paid services. We never see your credit card number.
We share only what is necessary for these providers to do their job. They cannot use your data for their own purposes.
We will share data with law enforcement if compelled by a valid legal request (subpoena, court order). If this happens to your account and the law allows us to tell you, we will.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to:
- Show you the data we have on you
- Correct anything that's wrong
- Delete your account and all the data associated with it
- Export your study progress so you can take it with you
To request any of these, email support@nursingfloor.com. We will respond within 30 days, usually faster.
If you reside in California, the EU, or another jurisdiction with specific data rights (CCPA, GDPR), those rights apply to you. Email us and we will honor them.
Cookies and tracking
We use cookies for two things: keeping you logged in (essential), and basic analytics to understand which pages are working. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking pixels.
Your browser also stores your study progress in localStorage. This is local to your device and only readable by NursingFloor.
Children
NursingFloor is intended for users 16 and older. If you are under 16, please do not create an account. If we learn that we have collected information from someone under 16, we will delete it.
Security
We use industry-standard practices to keep your data safe: HTTPS for all traffic, hashed passwords, access controls on our systems. No security is perfect. If we ever experience a breach that affects you, we will notify you promptly and tell you what happened, what we're doing about it, and what you should do.
Changes to this policy
When this policy changes in a meaningful way, we update the date at the top and post a banner on the site for at least 30 days. If the change affects how we use existing data, we'll email you.
